Project Curie

Responsibilities: Narrative Design, Writing, Worldbuilding

Project Curie was an unannounced project from Star Stable Entertainment. A magical online RPG aimed at girls and young women with a strong focus on story.

My role as a narrative design intern included narrative design, writing, research, content design, and game design tasks. I particularly enjoyed the opportunities for research and documentation, short story writing, and designing characters, quests, flora, and fauna.

I spent six months with Star Stable in Project Curie and loved my work as well as the team.

Type of project

A project in the discovery and pre-production phase of development with Star Stable Entertainment.

Tarantella

Responsibilities: Narrative Design, Writing, Worldbuilding

Tarantella is a strategy game inspired by the over-the-top violence, gore, and harsh language from Tarantino's movies Pulp Fiction and Django, Unchained. It has colorful characters and well-developed lore, with gameplay that reflects it. The vibrant narrative elements are primarily conveyed through illustrated dialogue boxes.

I was responsible for narrative design and writing, and created the world, character lore, and game script.

    • Working on the Tarantella manuscript, forced me to step out of my comfort zone to write a strong, sassy, foul-mouthed main character, which was a great opportunity to really stretch my skills in a new way.

ROLE

Narrative designer & game writer

Type of project

A student project at Future Games, in a team of six people.

Seventh Circle

Responsibilities: Narrative Design, Writing, Worldbuilding

Seventh Circle is a psychological thriller game, where a homicide detective searches for his missing wife, as he spirals into memory loss and madness, and discovers dark secrets about himself along the way. The bulk of the story is experienced through ripped pages from the detective's diary.

For this project, I was the narrative designer and game writer, responsible for the story and manuscript. This also required developing the backstory of the game, as well as the lore of the game world.

  • During this project, I learned a lot about how to balance input and feedback on story from a broad set of stakeholders, and how to maintain the integrity and quality of the narrative through that process.

ROLE

Narrative designer & game writer

Type of project

A student project at Future Games, in a team of nine people.

Final project: Carus

This was my final project for my diploma at Future Games. It is a worldbuilding project, creating a deep and extensive world to support a large variety of story types, and displaying my attention to detail and writing perseverance. I created it as a solo project using Google Docs, Procreate, and Inkarus map maker.

The whole project can be found here:
